Ridiculous yes. Suprising, no. And there is a double standard. There were people going into histrionics over this. On the other hand, there is the show Scandal. Olivia Pope, an African-American woman sleeping with White guys, who turns down a African-American man's proposal for marriage, twice. And the man she turned down was not some thug/hood rat. He was a decent man, a nice man, a man who would treat her right. No one freaked out over Olivia Pope. In fact, the show is quite popular. There are shows with interracial couples in them. However, Black male/White female couples get the most grief. No one freaks out over Olivia Pope trying to be a side woman to the President. A Black man married to a White woman(not a side woman, but actual wife) caused a firestorm.
The complete opposite is true when white males have children with non-white women. Whenever you see a mixed white/Asian or mixed white/non-black Hispanic child whose father is white you will see that most of the time he is married to his significant other. I see this combo a lot here in California. I tend to think the white man gets the creme de la creme and then settle down. Black men not so much. As a Latino I think we fall in the middle of all this lol.
If race is so important to you, please answer this for me. Why aren't Black men, whether they are decent or hood rat, getting more of the creme de la creme when they date outside of their race? If you notice that Black men aren't getting the very best of women, why? And I'm speaking in terms of all thing equal.
You would lose that bet. Just look at all the black athletes, actors and musicians who have many baby mommas. Those black men are rich and they still have many illegitimate children by multiple women. It is cultural.
You watch too much TV which tends to portray black males disparately. There are many White male celebrities, sports stars, corporate America, etc. who have children by more than one women, it's just not covered the same by the media. Let's no even talk about te numbers of infidelity among ehite males vs
In general it's the lower class white girls and they do think about the benefits they'll get after they have a baby, I've heard them. The Political Correctness Nazis tell the lie that you don't need a Father around but all statistical research shows otherwise (yes I know some single parent kids do well and some 2 parent kids do poorly but statistically, it's not open for a serious discussion...2 parent kids do much better than single parent kids).
And IMO that is the real issue, not the racial makeup of the kids involved.

Sandal was ripped on for promoting Adultery and soft porn.There are groups of people who hate because they have interracial relationship.
I see there are some people here who love to make excuses for the black man. Let's face it they are nothing but sperm donors and not a good long-term investment. I guess women learn the hard way. The most jaw dropping stat in this study is that non-black women who have black mixed kids have a higher illegitimacy rate (92%) than black women who have black babies (73%). Now that is CRAZY.
I'm not making excuses for any Black men who get women pregnant and then run out on those women. I also believe the women should be held responsible for having sex out of wedlock in the first place. Trash is trash no matter what race they are.
That said, what about the Black men who aren't out there being stupid? Why does no one discuss those men? Should they be made to pay for the stupidity of men who happen to look like them? My concern is for them because I'm a Black man who has never had sex. who is being diligent, who isn't messing around. And I know many Black man who are being diligent men.
If it was being ripped for adultery, I have not heard nearly as much criticism about that show as I've heard about the Cheerios commercial.
