Yes/No > i dont care. What I care about is if my car is going to break down soon after I get it. That repairs won't be expensive and maintenance will be minimal to not a bother save for whatever replacement parts are needed.
I had a HONDA till it was over 150,000 miles on the OD
I had a Pontiac that couldn't make it above 60 mph without dying and sold it within a year.
I currently own foreign and my next car will be foreign . American Car makers (with a small exception to Ford) have nothing on the imports quality and longevity.
Nowadays, it doesn't matter as far as quality is concerned (except for Chrysler, which IMO should have been put to sleep to let all of the other car companies have more marketshare).
10 years ago, I'd actually think worse of them for buying the overpaid union-made garbage that came out all 3 of the auto makers.
If you want an American car, buy a Toyota truck or car. BMW manufactured 155,000 cars here in '09. Mercedes-Benz's M & R classes are 90% American built and manufactured/sourced in the U.S., w/ the C-class starting at the same plant in 2012.
So, if you want an AMERICAN car...buy foreign.
