Obama and company have been taking a victory lap. Foolishly. Not just because Iran basically doesn't lose anything and gained everything, but 4 Americans are still being held by Iran. I don't think we gained a damn thing with this deal, and even worse, we couldn't free these guys?! He makes a deal to release terrorists for a rogue treasonous soldier yet doesn't fight for these men's release?
That is the question of the day, and quite a pathetic response from a president.

The press conference must not have gone well since CNN is going with the hot topic of prison overcrowding.

Also amazing that Major Garrett now works for CBS. So CBS is going to have to go behind the scenes to patch things up with the executive branch. Maybe run more late night skits insulting GOP candidates?

Seriously?

Question of the day? More like the editorial of the hour.

As for the response, the first part regarding hostages was on the money. The second part regarding sanctions on ballistic missiles and conventional arms had already been addressed by the Obama.

The prisoners are being negotiated through traditional back door, diplomatic channels and will be released within 6 months. You can bet on it.
Some of the most heinous criminals in Iran, under this "deal," would be having sanctions against them lifted. Surely having 4 Americans immediately released could have been part of this "plan."

See The Guardian (today), "Nuke Deal Helps Qasem Soleimani, The Top Iranian General With ‘American Blood on His Hands’"

And, if the release were within months, Obama would have had a legitimate answer to the reporter instead of insulting him for his question.

It's obviously not the only question of the day, but it's a good one.

Try the Daily Beast not the Guardian and from the story...

“His designation under U.S. sanctions will in no way be impacted by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action reached today,” the Treasury official said. She added that “secondary sanctions remain in place on the U.S. side,” which means that anyone or any company doing business with Soleimani can also be penalized.
