Ha! Yeah, there's no oil in there at all.

Tell me honestly - when has a Republican EVER cared about the environment? They don't. They honestly feel the best policy is to metaphorically rape the land until there is nothing left. Beautiful Seattle would be ruined in Republican hands.

Yep. And if they are arresting people over not composting their trash to get fingerprints to compare to prints off the uncomposted trash....
I don't see that city council lasting real long.

Seattle will not get rid of its city council for trying to get residents to compost. They believe in it. A few cranky residents may complain but the overwhelming majority believe in composting trash.

Eight Seattle residents have filed suit with the help of the conservative Pacific Legal Foundation against probes of their garbage containers. Seattle liberals have been pushing for several years to conduct searches of garbage, going back to Mayor Greg Nickels, who was last in office in 2010. The idea is to search peoples' garbage to see if they are recycling properly, and slap a fine on them if not.

The Fourth Amendment to the US Constitution states.
Thanks to the drug war and the conservatives on the Supreme Court, the 4th Amendment does not apply to your garbage. Police have the power to search your garbage at will to look for evidence of crimes.

LOL. So you're in the camp of "the murder weapon was disposed of in the trash, so we can't use it as evidence of past activity" group?

Meanwhile, in the Great Pacific Northwest, recycling companies are going out of business hand over fist, with Waste Management closing down major portions of their PNW recycling branches.

Public schools separate items in the building (to help the kids learn about recycling), but at the end of the day, it all goes into the same dumpster ...

Yup ... going green really proves it's point at the local landfill

Takoma Park, MD has been searching through, red tagging and fining residents for a couple decades over improper recycling.

No wonder Southern Democrats ran to join the Republican flock turning the southern states red.
Off topic. But feel free to post in the Liberal Myth thread (link posted previously in this thread), and I will be happy to set you straight w/ the facts.
