I'll say this. If these guys stroll like this into a theater or restaurant around me, they may not realize it, but they're only one wrong twitch from being shot. And facing that kind of firepower, I'm not going to warn them first.

Not sure but, I'll tell you what, I carry everywhere I go and you would rarely know it. I qlso carry a 12 gauge in the trunk and its unlikely you would know that either.

Why? 12 gauge pumps are very cheap (Remington 870 or Mossberg 500, choose one and know it, intimately) and are way more preferred in a terse situation. Pistol is a nice timeout until I can get to it.

Your results and mileage may vary. Carry on, Semper Fi.

Thank you. You are a responsible gun owner. The jackwagon in the video was looking for a confrontation, and the officers showed a remarkable amount of patience given his obnoxious behavior. Point of note: Michigan was the site of the worst episode of school violence in American history. Forty-five people, thirty-eight of them children, died.

I take you're former marine not on active duty, and you carry like the rest of us as a private citizen. I cannot appreciate it more! My question was more, should we automatically exclude active duty members from any OC and CC restrictions when off base? Should we create another priviledged class, or see it as more good guys with guns on the streets = safer streets?

Exactly, but he chose a to make his "statement" in front of a school of unarmed school children than to be brave and exercise where he may have been met by people better prepared. He was not angry the cops were there, he was hiding behind the cops.

I have no idea where to start with this odd rant. I think you should start reading a little history first.

Exactly! You have multiple people who are carrying, legally, in one place. I am not sure that they all are happy about it. A lot of the reason I think people carry is the sense of superiority it gives them but if someone comes in with a bigger gun than what?

Anyone (Well a lot of people) can buy a gun. It does not make them special or raise their IQ.

You seem to be older now. I personally agree with you. I am not much for pistols. Shotgun, than rifle for most things because if you are serious carry a serious weapon.

But do you think that most of your peers when you were fresh out of basic/boot camp (or whatever Marine's call it) were as responsible as you are now?

I am not sure they are automatically excluded. I will tell you that it may not be the best policy for a soldier to carry off base if he is going on base a lot.

The great thing about this thread is that it exposes a lot of real knuckleheads, especially new posters.

Or course there are a lot of gun owners who are stand up people who make good points only to be criticized by the knuckleheads.

To you knuckleheads I say no point in ever reading your nonsense any longer.

I really am not sure what is going on anymore. When I was young and was taught about guns it seemed the men who taught me were a lot different and responsible. It is entirely possible they were the same but I did not see it.

Yes! Anyone should be able to carry any weapon anywhere here in the USA provided they are trained at least minimally. I do not believe in licensing. Control and licensing stops no one - rather obvious by the news. Why harness the good guys.
