LOL what makes you think that they still wont let the Russians or the Chinese build a base?

Seriously, this isent changing anything at all ... the Castro brothers and the PCC (Cuban Communist Party) are still in power and ruling with an iron fist. The only difference is that now they will have an endless supply of Gringo money to prop them up. Raul will be able to transfer power to a chosen successor (believed to be Miguel Diaz-Canel ... a PCC hardliner) and the "revolution" will continue.

This would be funny if it wasent true ... an anti-American regime propped up with American dollars

It`s a shame that the Cubans can`t really grasp the joys of capitalism. They only need to look to their neighbors in Haiti or Guatemala to see how wonderful their lives can be.

Of course they wanted to nuke you. They weren't the only ones either. People tend to dislike bullies.
And cowards. Which is why the Cubans are calling Obama "el limpiabotas de Fidel."

Well, the US gets something in return: another island people can go to to get drunk and laid.

Why, some of the posters on this Forum may finally lose their virginity in the arms of a jinetera.

Good.

Ridiculous to have our lack of relations with Cuba, yet relations with countries like China, Vietnam, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.

I think US relations with Cuba were the equivalent of a five year old having a temper tantrum.

I have no idea why some people are so concerned about Castro still being in power, and events that happened fifty years ago, that were under an entire different global order and time.

Like we do with so many other countries.

Funny thing is, there is not even a restriction on travel and spending to North Korea...

Yes, and Cuba is the five year old. Why, its daddy won't even let the people leave the country, start a business, or log on to the internet.

What does America get out of the deal? Another place to get drunk and laid. Big deal.

What's there to get out of the deal? What do you want...their firstborn children?

The deal is this: we normalize relations, mind our business and they mind theirs. What they do on that island is none of your concern. Mine either.

That's what we get out of it.

The Cubans put that regime in power, and it's up to them to get rid of it.
