Cool. Same income, same benefits and more time off. Pretty sweet deal.

The entire point of raising the min wage is to get people off of welfare. Only that doesn't seem to be happening.
Guess the increase didn't go up enough to get many people off of SNAP. Guess raising the minimum wage didn't work, we should just get rid of minimum wage all together.

Speaking of which, I can't find this 13,000 claim, by any chance you have a link to this source?

So they interview a non profit do not actually have any info on who said the quote or any facts that it is true. Then they interview a book store which is a nich business so employers have to be smart and is small so he does not need a lot of employees so he is not spending much on wages. The book store owner seems to being blaming his employees wages on the fact he is not savy enough to figure out how to make more money. The rest the writer of the article just puts out things like restuarants have put a 15 surplus charge and some Seattle restaurants are closing not putting any sources if this is actually happening or if it is caused by higher wages or something else.

FRB: How much U.S. currency is in circulation?
Q: How much U.S. currency is in circulation?
A: There was approximately $1.34 trillion in circulation as of January 7, 2015, of which $1.29 trillion was in Federal Reserve notes.
=> DIVIDE by 320 million population (March 2015)
=> $4,031.25 (dollar bills) per capita

Might be getting difficult to scratch up more dollar bills, eh?

NO, the government does not just 'print up' more.
12 USC Sec. 411 requires the government to borrow them into existence.
Translation : DEFICIT.

So keep on fighting for more and more worthless debt notes!
That's the American way!

(You do know they have been worthless since 1933.)

See this is the funny thing, conservatives falsely ascribe political beliefs to people, instead of thinking about the reality. So I see people like you who talk about this...then go on and brag about how well they are avoiding taxes. Both are just gaming the system.

"those people are evil MUST be liberals!"
Hmm...apparently you can in fact "make this chit up"
Actually, a vast majority of people on welfare vote liberal. Just look at the liberal voting block. Add to that your illegals (a vast vast majority on entitlement programs) vote liberal as well. For anyone to deny that is clearly not paying attention.

You do realize that a good majority of people use these things called debit cards for money rather than actual paper currency....

Maybe we should make predictions here. I bet by Sept 1 the reduction of the welfare rolls is between .3 and 1.2%. The increased minimum wage is just another added cost to consumers and businesses with very little benefit.

REALITY: Most will be getting more income, and guess what? Those people spend it. As for those who might get less hours? Guess what? That means someone else works those hours...lower unemployment and.....higher spending.
When my wife was a store manager (department store), and people didn't want to work the assigned hours, they were replaced (fired).

In the real world, an employer does not cut someone's hours in order to give someone else (a new hire) a job! That is Democrat (Progressive) "logic" that is pure nonsense.

Nice try. Got anymore bright ideas, genius?

I'm sure lottery sales have increased.
"Progressives" will never understand the real world.

So? Heres how reality works-if you dont want to work the hours you will get replaced. Problem solved. If however the shorter hours works...they hire more people. Look unemployment goes down! YAY!

The bottom line is...less is going to be spent on welfare. Even if it means that the people game the system, the amount of welfare collected goes down. instead of 1 person getting 20% support, and one person getting 100%...we go to two people getting 20%.

And yet somehow...this is bad.

BTW-vast majority are enjoying their higher income, and spending more, thus increasing business in their area.
Until the jobs all become automated.
