Just try using a savings interest calculator where you contribute money over a 45 year period.

Not to mention the fact that some people contribute, but don't live long enough to collect.
Did you notice how I purposely put "investment" in quotes? Read the sentence at loud and include the air quotes around the word investment. See?

Specifically, for every $100 that white beneficiaries pay in taxes, they receive $113 in benefits, blacks receive $89 and Hispanics receive $58. The gap is particularly pronounced for retirement benefits, although the Disability Insurance program narrows the gap somewhat.

The disparity will continue to widen in the next ten years. Whites will receive $120 in benefits for every $100 they paid in taxes, while blacks will receive $91 and Hispanics $62.

Actually -- No it's not.

America did fine with it's infrastructure before the Federal Government got involved ... Just like with education. More people knew how to read in 1948 than they do now ..

More bridges have fallen down in this country on our major highways than did before the Government take over of our transportation system.

Fire brigades existed long before there were County and State mandates -- They still have many volunteer fire departments that are supported soley by donation.

People took care of their towns with regard to law enforcement - There were no Federal rules or mandates that kept authorities from upholding the law.

We could easily go on and on with this, but since there are those who've been baptised in the waters of socialism, like you obviously have, there's no point in continuing...

I'm not seeing how the AP and the SS Admin are wrong when they state the fact that the middle class is now losing money on SS, and higher income earners have been losing money on SS for at least 20 years.

That's fine.
Just give up your Social Security, Medicare, stop driving
on public roads and highways, take your kids out of
public schools, never call the police or fire department,
don't use the Postal Service, don't flush your toilet into
the sewer system...
Oh, and get off the internet, because the U.S. government
created that, too.
Last week I pointed out that Socialism is widely debated here and elsewhere without ever being defined.

So Socialism is defined as...government itself?

On a different note, Social Security is bankrupt as is the Post Office. Medicare is a bureaucratic nightmare. And the police are murdering black folks by the score.

No gripe with the Fire Dept though.

Add the TVA to the list. Don't forget the VA, which everyone from Ron Kovic to the current press has pointed it as a disaster.

Socialism is a social and economic system characterised by social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy, as well as a political theory and movement that aims at the establishment of such a system.
Public finance of infrastructure is not social ownership of the means of production.

You should have waited until at least 8th grade to drop out of school.

I paid for the services with my homeowners taxes.. and out of my paycheck.. These are not freebees to those who pay for it. Roads are paid for with the tax put on gas at the pump.

Socialism is foodstamps , welfare, government programs that are giveaways ..

Taxpayers get the bill...
