So are we betraying the Kurds now? Turkey has begun bombing them. We have been supporting the Kurds, and I assume we are official allies. There is no way Turkey can bomb them unless we approve.

Are we really approving this? The Kurds look to us for support. We are just creating another ethnic group to hate us. The Kurds will be the next Al Qaeda.

1. Kurdistan is a region, not a country
2. Turkey has been bombing them for years, other countries have been bombing them for decades.
3. We dont have to approve anything, Turkey is a sovereign nation, they dont need our approval to bomb anyone.

No, we arent approving this. And make no mistake, this isnt an agreement with what they are doing. Its just a comment telling you to think before you post.

The United States has always betrayed the Kurds. We use them for whatever temporary purpose they serve, then we dump them like trash.

Kurdistan has nothing we want or need, so crapping all over them doesn't seem to matter to the powers that be. No one cares.

I think Turkey and Erdogan are major threats in ME.

They should be toppled.

And it can be done easily, without military intervention.

Economic sanctions...etc.

Yeah...because toppling Middle Eastern governments has worked out so well for us Americans.

Why not??

There are other alternative countries that can be allies.

You do realize there are issues with Saudis as well.

Sunnis didn't do any good.

Shia countries deserve a chance IMO.

The United States doesn't need allies.

And internal Middle Eastern politics is none of our business.

At first I was pleased that Turkey was stepping up and taking a more active part in fighting ISIS.

Yet, Turkey also bombing the only really effective fighters in the region, the Kurds, seems to only benefit ISIS.

Turkey agrees anti-Isil 'safe zone' in Syria but accused of bombing Kurds - Telegraph
