Pretty funny video Bloomberg Politics made of a compilation of Donald Trump speeches, claiming what he's worth- http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/vi...nk-he-s-worth-

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think he'd ever care about anyone except the 1%...

Trump himself thinks he is PRICELESS. He has the biggest ego ever.

Being a rich self made man of course he rubs elbows with 1% but being self made I don't think he would ever forget the guy that mows the grass at one of his golf courses. Being a business man he knows that the workers are an important asset to any successful company.
Translate that to America if he were President. America needs a strong working middle class to work and Trump would be the happiest he has ever been if he sat at the tip top of it.

Self-made? His daddy was worth $400M at death. What are you talking about?

Did he grow his inheritance? Absolutely. But having seed capital (some seed capital!!) meant everything when leverage was the name of the game in real estate in the 80's and 90's. Not to mention all the business connections provided by his dad, private school education, and a cool last name he could brand (imagine if his last name were "Kowalski").

He was never a little guy. Let's stop pretending. Please.

Mick

Actually Fred Trumps net worth was estimated to be about $250 million, and since there was 5 children, the money would have been divided. Since he didnt die until 1999, Donald Trump had to pretty much make a name for himself.

As for the rest of your posting, what you're saying is Trump is a very smart well connected individual, who clearly knows how to get things done..

Donalds father objected to developing the type of properties and even the locations (Queens) where they were being built, and it was Donald who pushed Fred to develop into Forest City.

You may not like Donald Trump, but you cant downplay his successes. When he started developing, most of New York was is complete disrepair and falling apart. going down hill fast.

If you think that is funny, consider the estimates the federal agencies provide for infrastructure projects, obamacare

If he just cared about the 1% he could not have have ammased his fortune. Capitalism works that way. Payment for services or exchanged for goods.
Unless Trump burries his money in 55 gallon drums in the backyard the economy is benefitting by his investments.

A billion or more dollars is just a concept except to the US government which spends a billion taxpayer dollars in about 8 hours. You do realize the government does not have money of its own. Every penny the US goverment spends is taxpayer dollars.

You do realize that if you had one billion dollars......

"if you spent $1000 a day it would take 1,000,000 days or 2740 years to spend a billion dollars!!!

" a stack of one billion,1dollar bills would reach up 67.9 miles

if you spent $20 a second it would take this long to spend a billion dollars"

1,000,000,000 578 days (1 year 214 days)

The irony of course is in that the left will run around bragging that NYC is a huge sign of liberal success, the huge development projects, the infrastructure, the capitalism, while then in the next sentence, attempt to downplay and criticize the capitalism, and those who profited from it as being incompetent, a fraud etc..

They cant even get their own position straight

what difference does it make how much trump is worth? if he earned it legally, then more power to him, i hope he increases his wealth ten fold before he dies.

in the end every president we have had has been wealthy at one point or another, since they have ALL been successful in their lives, and that is kind of the point isnt it? we want the successful people to be president now dont we? how manyh poor people have you voted for, for president? do you really think joe shmoe down the street who can barely make his house payment is going to run for the highest public office in the land on his salary of $60,000 per year?

If his statements in that regard doesn't mesh with reality, it speaks to his trustworthiness, no?

Considering that the Donald Trump's paternal grandfather was named "Friedrich Drumpf" when he immigrated from Germany during the late 19th Century, "Trump" is appears to be an improvement.
Trump or Drumpf – What’s In A Name?
