You're not a minority, you don't know what it feels like to be a minority. So, of course you just can't comprehend why this couple felt offended. They felt they were being singled out, do I need to spell it out for you?
Yes, apparently they hate being black. I wouldn't want to be called something I didn't want to be either.
I worked with a Black guy from Nigeria (college degreed engineer).
And boy did he get upset when he was referred to as African American.
Constantly correcting them with "I'm African" and his accent surely gave proof to that.

They will go out of business for this free meal for life thing. Now the troublemakers who hear about it will go there, claim racism and he will be responsible for giving them free meals. He set a track record for himself. He either now becomes a soup kitchen or he goes bankrupt.
If I am a customer I don't expected to be treated normally. I expected to be treated like a valued customer. That is how I treat my customers. I am not doing them a favor by doing my job. They are doing me a favor by patronizing me in a competitive market palce.

I have read all the posts before here and just find some of them incredible, such touchy and sensitive babies. Goodness gracious, life is too short to get so upset about such trivial crap.
This is why PC is so dangerous, someone may have actually lost a job because they called a black couple, a black couple.

In California southern hispanics don't like northern, they call them farmers. Now Nigerians don't like American blacks. We are all the same race. The human race. As long as they have us hating on each other we will be divided and it's just what the ruling class wants. Don't give in to it. The evil media exploits this to no end. Shut the news off.
