The people want cheap labor and then turn around and blame government for the consequences.
The most effective wall can be built in three months by simply passing a law requiring all employers to verify all employees are qualified to work in the United States or face a $50,000 per day fine for hiring and PAYING an illegal.

Half of that daily fine, $25,000 per day, would be paid directly to the person, most likely an employee, who turns the employer in to the immigration service. That fine is daily per illegal employee so when xyz masonry company hires and pays 10 illegal workers it's $500,000 per day with $250,000 per day paid to the person or employee that is first to turn the employer in.

Would you turn in your employer for $1.75 million? What kind of fence is that?

Clarification: The fine does not start until the first pay is given to the new worker. If payday is on Wednesday I can hire Rolando and work him Monday through Friday and then Monday to Wednesday and I have not hired an illegal until I pass a check to Rolando without clearance from Immigration and Customs. Once I have clearance it's good to go.

These fines apply to Robert who wants to pick up some day laborers at Home Depot as well. Robert needs to understand if he hires 4 illegals to do his patio on a Saturday if he pays them without clearance then his neighbor who turns him in can get rich.

What better fence is there?

Any costs would be recouped by the billions it costs us per year having them here and continuing to come.

Where U.S.-Mexico border fence is tall, it works
Good article, but it's missing a photo of the wall

I agree.

I see Americans doing the construction work and landscaping too. All ages. They work hard. And it's hot here in Florida. They do the outdoor work 12 months - all year long.

A wall can only do so much. Obeying and enforcing the law must be done in concert with a wall. Fat chance of Obama (who defies the law as a matter of fact) and a do nothing Congress.

Libs want illegals for more voters and rhinos want more illegals for cheap slave labor.

Changing immigration will require:

1. A wall
2. military patrols
3. enforcing current immigration laws
4. no federal funds to sanctuary cities
5. politicians who actually support American citizens, rather than illegals and thier own personal gains.
Item #4 is probably UNCONSTITUTIONAL according to Article I Second 9 which bars Congress from passing " A Bill of Attainder". This comes from English Common Law and says the Legislative Branch can't pass legislation whose intent is to punish a individual or any group of Americans with out a trial. Congress would have to have to take each sanctuary city to trial in Federal Court.

The best option for Trump to keep illegals away will be to build one of his Trump Casinos near the border.

There is no difference.

Corporations have the same constitutional rights as human beings, according to our Supreme Court.

The Wall Will never Get Built!!!
you know why because it is stupid idea for business and the economy.

anybody who takes a look at the Mexican Economy and Its growth trajectory can see that
in 20 years It is very Possible that they might have overtaken France, Canada and maybe even Japan.

Basically in 20 years it is quite possible that Mexico is in par with Brazil. Why would American business want a wall built up to block commerce with a country like that?

Even the Illegal Immigration Over all helps the U.S Economy. Yes it might hurt certain regional economies. but overall the infusion of young workforce in to the U.S is a actually a dream come true that countries like Germany and France would be killing for.

Who mows the grass? Who cooks the food and washes the dishes? Who cleans homes and offices? Who minds the children and elderly? Who processes the chickens? Who plants and harvests the crops so a big juicy watermelon can be sold for $3.99?

Alabama is one of 4 states that mandates e- Verify. What they have learned is that it impacts the ability of the state to compete for business with other states, that let it rip. Mandatory e- verify was a part of the bipartisan Senate's immigration bill, ignored by the house. Nothing has precluded stand alone bill, yet Congress has done nothing for 30 years.

How did we ever survive without low-skilled illegal immigrants driving down wages?

In the future, as I envision it, you`ll have to pay more to get your lawn cut and the price of a pedicure will increase as well, but wages will also increase.

Overall, wealth in the US will increase with those at the bottom getting a bigger slice of the pie than was previously the case.

Perhaps the Democrat`s war on tax payers and white males, in general, has run its course.

Maybe the wall is just symbolic for what Trump intends but I agree it's a bad idea. Imagine the graffiti on the thing. Talk about an eyesore. We don't need it, we just have to find better high tech ways to monitor who comes and goes and what American citizens are breaking the law by hiring these people.
