And business will only get better if the militant abortion activists get their way.

"It is illegal, but these people have developed a loophole around it in that, for example, when they sell baby parts, they don't sell you the part," Crutcher details. "They say we will donate the part to you. Well, that makes it legal, but then, you have to pay us to harvest the part ... to transport it ... to gather it, and get it to you, and they can set the price on that."

Part of the New Zealand research mixes human and animal cells. Investigate Magazine reports that five universities in the U.S., including the University of Washington, have been harvesting the parts.

Sorry but there is no law against the transfer of fetal tissue for the purpose of stem cell research.

Miscellaneous Issues: Fetal Tissue Facts
Under the current law it is "unlawful for any person to knowingly acquire, receive, or otherwise transfer any human fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce." "Valuable consideration" is equivalent to "profit" but does not preclude reasonable payments associated with the transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control or storage of human fetal tissue. This law applies equally to federally funded and non federally funded scientists. Congress is investigating reports of isolated cases where some private providers may be overreaching the lawful limitation. To our knowledge, however, widespread violations of the law is unlikely.

In 1997 the General Accounting Office issued a report indicating that all federally funded fetal tissue transplant projects were meeting established standards governing informed consent and fetal tissue acquisition, and no complaints regarding fetal tissue research have been lodged with the NIH, the agency charged with the oversight of federally funded research, since the GAO report was issued.

Legal fetal tissue research funded by the federal government has profound potential to advance human health and prevent immeasurable suffering. Its progress should not be frustrated by a small minority of "bad apples" who may be illegally profiting from the sale of fetal tissue. Instead the law should be enforced and those who violate the law should be prosecuted to its fullest extent.

It is a shame that a pipeline construction project between 2 states involves prohibitive amounts of bureaucratic approval, but putting a baby in a veritable blender, well............that's a snap!

Been going on for years........

I was once told to get a reefer unit started on a truck so it keep the product cold.

When I asked what was inside, I almost puked at the driver's answer.

He said he also hauls human placentas.

Friggin' gross.....

Liberal supported abortion results in liberal university harvesting and sales of baby parts to liberal research labs who find nothing wrong with the aborted byproduct of liberal ideology.

Is there anything good about liberalism? Anyone?

Is circumcision also a supposed 'liberal' endeavor?

If not immediately discarded, newborn foreskins are used -- without compensation to the family -- in the production of cosmetics, lab testing, and some skin substitute grafts (Apligraf, Dermagraft).

It's scientific research.
You know, the kind of activity that gave you antibiotics, insulin, cancer treatments, fertility treatments and stuff like that.

The use of fetal tissue gives insight in how stem cells are formed, which could lead to cures for diseases like cystic fibrosis.

Fetal tissue is a bunch of cells. It has biological life, but no consciousness.

I really don't understand. We shoot lions for fun, eat live animals for the taste of it but don't you dare to use human tissue to advance scientific knowledge about ourselves...

Liberalism might not be perfect, but it has given us prosperity. Conservatism just breeds more of the same. Like Iran.

You left out "stuff like" blond-haired blue-eyed twins.

"Afterall the living data was taken the twins would be killed by a single injection ofchloroform in the heart. Care was taken to insure the twins died at the sametime. The twins were then dissected with the organs being sent to research centers."

Medical Experiments of the Holocaust and Nazi Medicine |

Nazis had good reasons for doing what they did too.

When someone is declared by the state to be a non-person, this sort of barbarism is always right around the corner.

Good...I see Tea Partiers whining about it but they never turn down advanced life saving treatments that came from fetal and stem cell research
