Until the "war on drugs" ends, inner city crime isn't going anywhere. And, by the time it does, the habit of violence will be so ingrained that it may not make much difference for some neighborhoods/groups of people.
Hold your head high and, don't let the fools of ANY race try to hold you back.

Thanks. They definitely don't. I'm college educated and own my own business. While I could have been just another terrible stereotype (grew up in poverty, teen mother, dropped out of high school), I've overcome many obstacles. My husband and I are comfortably middle class and our oldest is entering her junior year in college.

So, when folks ask what am *I* doing to solve the problems in the black community, it speaks to their ignorance. I grew up in and now live just 15 minutes outside of DC where crime has gotten better but is still an issue. Same for nearby cities (Baltimore). If I stood in the middle of a crime ridden neighborhood and begged the criminals to change their ways, how effective would I be? Other than leaving my children motherless, of course. I effect change the way that most families effect change: by ensuring that MY family contributes to the solution, not the problem.

Agreed. You need to take care of you and your own people close to you. PWT and hood rats ain't your people.

The hatred for "so-called racist police officers" is abundant by some races. For those cop haters, I would imagine you would be the "FIRST" to call the police if someone just sexually assaulted your wife or girlfriend, destroyed your home in a violent burglary, put a gun up to your head or just tried to strangle you...

I'm one of those you speak of and am more of a pro second amendment anarchist than someone who would want the government (cops) to take care of me.
