I know this is a little different than the usual fare around here, but I think it is important that we all complete our civic duty as a juror. Being judged by ones peers is one of the most basic principals of this nation that many skirt because they find it too inconvenient.

Many of us complain about our overlords, needless to say I do all the time. With all the complaining that we do we must also take responsibility and do our part in government. A vote cast in a deliberation room is the most influential vote most of us will cast in out entire lives.

I know a lot of people hate Bush but you have to say it would be awesome to have him as a fellow juror.

Pretty cool, I would love to have him as a fellow juror. Bill Clinton, too, although I would be surprised to see him serve.

That would definitely be a surprise to be called for jury duty only to find out a former president has also been called. Goes to show no one is above jury duty.

So, will the defendant say it's Bush's fault if he's found liable?

I happen to agree with you but how many posts have been written with some form of "only stupid people can't get out of jury duty"? And then people wonder why juries sometimes go off the reservation.

Oh I don't know, I have always liked the idea of it. I have only been called once and was asked to do a grand jury but wasn't able to take a month off of work to do it.

That's because, even though you have misguided political ideas, you buy into one of the duties of being a citizen. Many don't.

I just completed a 3 week trial in June. I really enjoyed the process. Thankfully my work pays me while I am on jury duty so I don't have the financial hardship many do.

Good for him. I am sure he could have gotten off easily if he tried. Respect.
