Having a comedian as our next POTUS

I guess with the bar being set so low with Obama, just about anyone with little to no experience can be elected for the highest and most powerful position on the planet.
Says a lot about how intelligently we pick and choose our leaders.

A comedian has no place in politics. He would never handle it. Funny question though. He is a psuedo-pundit and is laughing all the way to the bank at people who think he is something special. Pandering is easy and gets ratings and ignorant votes . Get a clue.

And Ronald Reagan spent 15 years after his last "acting" job working in politics before being elected President. That means Mr. Leibowitz has until until 2030 to complete the following, like Reagan;

1. Give a 25 minute nationally televised speech in support of one of the Democratic 2016 Presidential candidates.
2. Publish an autobiography.
3. Become Governor of NY.
4. Announce his first run for the Presidency in 2019.
5. Get re-elected as Governor.
6. Run for President again in 2026.
7. Become President in 2030.
8. ???
9. Profit.

How do you not see it? Jon Stewart is a socialist. He supports a single-payer, he is constantly agitating against Wall Street and the banks. They have basically the same positions when it comes to gay rights, women's rights, race-issues. They both have a similar anti-war foreign policy. They both support free college. They are basically the same when it comes to the environment, guns, taxes, social-security, welfare etc. They are practically identical. I don't know how you can't see it.

If anything, Jon Stewart is further to the political left than Bernie Sanders. Bernie at least criticizes immigration in the name of protecting unions and wages. I've never heard Jon Stewart criticize immigration whatsoever.

Depends on who he is running against and what his policy positions are

Jon Stewart's brother is the former COO of NYSE Euronext, Lawrence Leibowitz.

Socialists run Wall Street.

Sadly, you've hit the nail on the head. The bar was set SO low with Obama, but he was still able to slither under it.

The question is........how do we go about raising the bar back to where it needs to be, so we don't have to deal with a human skid mark like we've had to do the last 6+ years?

And seriously, Jon Stewart for President? That's laughable. Who's going to be VP? Arsenio?

Of course I would vote for him, though he would never run. He did spend 17 years making fun of everything that is wrong with politics, I doubt he would want to deal with that BS head on. It is much easier to make fun of it than have to try to fix it.

You are not an independent- you are a liberal. Independents do not always support and vote for democrat candidates.

Jon Stewart presents both sides of an issue- the liberal and the democrat ones.
