I think most Americans would be happy if we stopped talking about race altogether and just proceeded with the understanding that we are all the same human race. Ironically, the very people who should want this to be the case are the ones who continually bring up race in every aspect of life.
Very true, but some people have literally made a career out of race baiting, and one of the political parties banks on raising racial issues as part of their mantra and maintaining their voting block.
When "Black Lives Matter" became the theme of the movement, we lost a great opportunity to come together as Americans and confront a very real problem in our nation, which is the militarization of our police force.
I understand that black lives matter as well as every other life. Most of us know this! But I'm not sure how many people that actually participate in this movement understand that black lives matter.
It would seem if you really believed that black lives matter then you should focus on the number one killer of black lives which is other blacks. There was a story a couple of months ago that took place in L.A. where a black officer killed an unarmed black man. Where was the movement then? It seems they only care when a black life is taken by a white officer. That sounds more like bitterness to me.
If I'm trying to budget money and I find I have $100 dollars going to waste, $60 going towards going to the movies,$1 going to a McDonald's cheeseburger, and the rest going to whatever else, am I really going to focus on that $1???
That might be a poor analogy but that is pretty much what is going on with this movement!
Why are you always trying to stir something up? Seriously.
Like the OP isn't trying to stir up something. Just like Stoke said, what is the point of this thread? The OP doesn't like BLM? Cool, was a thread on it without an actual poll necessary?
No. But we should still be concerned about real cases of police killing that are not justified regardless of race. Problem is most of the cases highlighted by the movement do not fall into that category.
Black people are on TV every day endlessly complaining about something. BLM is lost in that noise which the rest of America already ignores as nonsense anyway. So IMO, nobody will notice or care if they disappear.
If you say so.

Imo, it was lost when our leos make it a habit of having itchy trigger fingers.

If the entire Black Lives Matter movement disappeared overnight,
The country would be better off.
