What things would you do if you were king or Queen? Not asking how or for the details just what changes you would make.

1. Get rid of the two party system.
2. Ban ALL GMO's
3. Give tax breaks to those who use public transportation & or ride their bikes to work.
4. Free health care.
5. Give tax breaks to those who companies/ people who use solar panels at home.
6. Decimalize pot.
7.Give car makers a tax break for making cars that get 60 MPG.
8. End homelessness.
9. That everyone got to go to college/vocational school.
10. That anyone who ran for office could use religion as a reason to run. Nor could they mention God/s while in office in public.
11. Create a train for the U.S like Japan has that run the length of the U.S & on both coasts.
12. When out of H.S kids have to enlist in some type of civil service for a year. Peace Corps, the DMV, Police officer, etc.
13. Make sure that everyone has a job.
14. End the I.R.S!!

i would start eliminating job killing regulations

order the border patrol, as well as all other law enforcement agencies, to start checking the status of immigrants in this country, and deport those here illegally.

i would enforce the laws on the books, and if you are convicted of a crime, you do the whole stretch, no more parole. and time in prison is hard labor. no more free time in prison, you will break rocks, or many other jobs that can be done by prisoners, and you will work ten hours per day.

i would reduce the size of the federal government, and have the states take up the slack of things like welfare, and health care. the federal government would be doing only those things allowed it by the constitution.

speaking of the constitution, once everything was properly reset, i would order new elections, and once a new president was elected and sworn into office, i would abdicate my throne.

Bailout my friends, ignore the Constitution, and keep us in never ending wars in the Middle East.

Thank you for making this thread, because it gives me a reason to post this. I think people should watch this and then answer the question.

I would legalize pot. Regulate it reasonably and tax it heavily. And I'd take a serious look at doing the same for cocaine and opiates. They never hurt me... but I'm no ordinary man.

I would decree that capital gains taxes will be MORE than income taxes- structured in such a way that people will be incentivized to actually invest and grow companies long-term rather than chasing short-term gains in stock prices.

I would close any and all loopholes and schemes allowing taxes to be avoided by offshoring capital. Foreign investment is fine- but it should't be advantageous vs U.S. investment.

I would institute MASSIVE changes to our social welfare system- including guaranteed minimum income for EVERYBODY (even billionaires). Which might allow the minimum wage to be eliminated... we'll see how that pans out.

I would raise taxes on billionaires. Massively. No person or family should be more wealthy than an entire state- that's a direct threat to the stability of our society.

All cops would wear body cameras at all times that they're on duty. Uploaded to secure sources that the cops can only view (so can the public). Police would have absolutely no access to destroy or hide evidence. If there are undercover operations where this isn't practical, we can talk about it... but they're gonna be few and far between.

Workers WILL have mandatory and generous vacation, sick leave, maternity leave, etc. Part-timers WILL have the same benefits as full-time employees... at their percentage of full time employment when we're talking monetary benefits. Full time will be 35 hours per week. Any additional working time will be paid at DOUBLE the hourly rate, and this goes for salary jobs too.

And on the Seventh Day I'd go fishing.

That would mean that our constitution is out the window, so here goes.....

1) Set up reservations for all nonproductive people.

2) Confiscate all monies and other property from wealthy avowed socialists and redistribute it to the truly needy and returning veterans.

3) Outlaw abortion under all circumstances. Set up well run comfortable centers for expecting mothers.

4) Eliminate corporate income tax and go to a consumption tax.

5) Build a wall at our borders with machine gun turrets every 100 yards.

6) Set up tribunals for the current house, senate and executive branch members for crimes against America......taking bribes, etc.

If I were a monarch I would be a constitutional monarch that answers to a democratically elected government in a largely, or entirely ceremonial role similar to the UK/Commonwealth realms, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Japan, etc. However if I were a dictator with unlimited power:

1) Abolish the direct election of US senators. US senators are supposed to represent the states and thus should be elected by the state legislatures.
2) Abolish the Federal minimum wage and allow states to set their minimum wage according to their local realities.
3) Allow US territories the presidential vote and reduced voting representation in Congress equal to that of the least populated state (1 US senator and 1 US congressman/woman).
4) Cap the Social Security retirement age at 8 years lower than the average life expectancy ... so at age 70. If the average life expectancy goes down the retirement age would go down, if it goes up the retirement age will go up.
5) Conquer all of the Americas and the Caribbean that is not already under the sovereignty of either the US, Canada, UK, France, the Netherlands, or Denmark. This will give us much land and natural resources to exploit.
