Who pays for all of "that" in other countries?

The only industrial/western nation with no mandatory paid/unpaid parental/maternity leave (FMLA only applies to larger companies which is a joke and horrible anyway!)
Don't those "other countries" compensate for all of the "mandatory" paid social issues by having ridiculously high income taxes for all? Yet there are still "rich" and "millionaires" in those countries. Who tend to run the country….

Among the largest income inequalities in the world (millions live under poverty).
Millions live under the poverty rate in a lot of countries, while the few in charge have been known to have toilets made out of gold. Go fix countries like India & Mexico & China & The Philipines when it comes to "income inequality" before you hit up the US.

Universities very expensive and most students have tens of thousands of student loan debts with interest rate collected even by the government!
No one is forced to attend college or take out student loans and end up 10s of thousands of dollars in debt.

You must worry about saving saving saving (despite most Americans don't) and worrying about not being layed off from work or having to eat pet food being a student or elderly and even selling their homes paying for their medical bills or college tuition.
No, you "must" not.

Generally crappy education system.
No…there are options. You can send your kid to private or homeschool. If one is concerned about the public education of their children they can raise their kid to care about their education and be a part of it.

Unless you live in one of the few states with no sales tax; all prices are falsely advertised where you must add up the sales tax and also the enourmous tips when eating out at many places on top of the "price tag".
No they aren't. How do you falsely advertise the cost of anything? Go somewhere else if you don't like the price. You obviously know zip about business…but you'd prefer government controlled regulation of "prices" without taking in to consideration cost for the business? An apple in NYC costs a lot more than an apple at my local Shop Rite….think about WHY that might be?

Don't eat out. Or eat out and don't tip. That's up to you.

Generally poor infrastructure (lack of public transportation and even side walks, as well as problems with potholes/cracks, etc. in many places).
Plenty of public transportation in cities. And sidewalks. You can't exactly hop on public transportation in the middle of nowhere England (or find a sidewalk to walk on while walking to the non existent public transportation in the middle of nowhere England, or France, or Spain, or Holland or Switzerland….).

Quote:
Going on vacation overseas is not only far but also quite expensive (on top of most Americans who lack paid/unpaid weeks of vacation time).
If you go overseas, it's overseas. Doesn't matter where you start and end up.

Property taxes are sky high in certain places, such as in New Jersey and New York.
Don't live in the towns of NJ or NY that have high property taxes.

Quote:
Income taxes are still high if you factor in federal + state income tax, and you don't get that much back from all the income taxes you pay.
We get a lot back. Like freedom to not live under socialism or a dictatorship (no matter how hard Obama has tried).

High crime rate in many big cities.
Right, no high crime rate in any non-American big city.

Quote:
Homes are built in cheap quality.
The US is the only country that deals with this issue? While other countries have cities falling apart when the earth shakes for 5 seconds.

Quote:
Political correctness is getting worse and worse especially the more diverse this nation gets
Given every other point you have made up until this one, you need to define your definition of "political correctness". Seems like your definition is not following your local dictator.

Low minimum wages with crappy or even no benefits at many retail jobs.
Then don't work in retail. Get a government job. Where a HS education is not necessarily required.

Long working hours = Lower quality of life.
Not even close.

Quote:
Expensive day cares.
Then don't have kids you can't afford to stay home and raise or send to daycare.

Quote:
Too much processed and unhealthy food; quality food is overpriced.
Right, no processed food in any other country in the world and quality food found in nasty markets with zero health code is so much better.

Quote:
Government spending money on other countries issues and war.
I have to agree with you here. The US needs to take care of it's own (not illegals in country, not "humanitarian efforts outside of country) before sending billions to support other countries where their "leaders" live high off the hog. War? Japan should have stayed home on 12/7/41. Let Europe and the ME figure it out for themselves.

Low social benefits/safety.
Take care of yourself.

Basically unless you are rich or have very high income and don't mind working a lot with little vacation time, America is great!
And so many do exactly that, without a "very high income" or "rich" and lots of vacation.

I have lived in other places and visited (long term) even more and I'll stay right here in the good ol USA. I'm not brainwashed. Don't need to be. I love it here.

I like our healthcare. I'm far from rich, just a regular working stiff like 99% of the rest of us but my cancer was treated expertly about 15 years ago and the year of chemo didn't bankrupt me. Everything was covered. A few years ago I had a heart attack ( genetics from my mom's Norweigan blood in which she lost both her Norweigan brothers and her Norweigan dad and grandad---so don't blame the US for this) and my insurance covered that. My kidney issues? Yep, insurance is covering it. Prescriptions? Yep--them too. Bypass last year? OMG, that was covered by my insurance as well. In fact all my health issues in the past couple years have costed me no more then 4 grand in addition to my affordable premiums. And I'm not bankrupt. Still saving!

As far as inequality? Good! If someone puts up the risk and capital to start their business then they should be able to make money at it. There is work out there. If your not happy with what your getting, change jobs. Push ahead to move up. It can be done. All it takes is initiative!

As far as processed crap, well one of my memories of Norway was all the assorted processed meats popular on their open faced sandwiches for lunch every day. I have plenty of corn and bean fields where I'm at which has a healthy population of deer and also waterfowl in the fall so hunting gives me quality meats. Fishing here gives me plenty of options for fresh fish and the local supermarkets have quality beef and chicken. Not to mention all our quality locally grown produce for half the year. Very easy to eat healthy if I want.

Working hours for me are great and I have plenty of time off. I live near a seasonal coastal resort so not much work in the winter. So I'll make it in the summertime and take half the year off. Works for me and I still have 2 newer cars and a house. And I'm putgting money asside for not only retirement, but a small boat and paying off my mortgage.

I live in a very safe area. Not really any crime here except for drunkin related issues which are minor. It's like that in the majority of this country. Only a few city's have a crime problem and of those I've been too it's pretty obvious where to avoid. I mean, Helen Keller would be able to see where not to go in Baltimore!

Taxes aren't bad at all where I'm at. And income taxes in general are not too bad in this country. Just need to learn how to take your legal deductions. Amazing what can be trimmed from your taxes. Legally!!!

Tips? No problem. I have worked for them in the past and like it. A win win for both. And yes, I have reported every cent. How do you think I was able to mortgage a house or finance a car. Banks want to see taxes and it better show income.

I could go on and on and on but I'll spare you all and stop. just trying to point out that this country is a good fit for me. I love it here and it is more affordable overall and gives me, personally, a better quality of life then any other place I have ever been to. There is a reason so many move here!

Hmmm....I've been able to circumvent just about all of those issues by doing well in school, studying a technical field, and working hard.

I will agree that the political correctness sucks. But the other nonsense you posted? Doesn't concern me too much as I happen to be a big believer in personal responsibility. But go enjoy Greece or wherever you are from - just be sure to have some extra USD$ laying around for when your bank doesn't give back money, and watch out tripping over the migrants flooding your shores. color me jealous.

I am happy that I live in a country where my father delivered soda to grocery stores, my mom was a Nurse, and now at 32 yrs old, I have endless opportunities ahead of me bc of their guidance and my hard work.
