The most frustrating thing is that we know the money isn't being used as intended. Arafat died a billionaire (while his people suffered) because of diverted US aid. However, here we are still doing the same things, and our politicians and ideologues expect different results.

It isn't simply insanity; it's verging on a complete disconnect from reality. And these are the people who know what's best for us? "What a disaster" is an understatement.
