Notice the right of the people and not the right of the government?

For sure, the Second Amendment encourages people to be part of the well regulated militia

Really, how many devotees of today's gun nut culture are volunteers in the military reserves or national guard or local police reserve … ???

Anyway, probably the best self defense weapon is your cell phone. Dial 911. The responding cops will be heavily armed and highly trained in physical confrontation.
And, usually arrive long after you need them. I would rather take my chances with a gun in hand during a home invasion or rapist while waiting for the cops.

The vast majority of persons who have guns are not skilled at using them in self defense and are just as likely to have their weapon grabbed or stolen and used against them ...

Do you know what regulated meant when the 2nd Amendment was written?

Even if that is true, which I don't believe, what are they suppose to do if someone attacks them?

Best home self defense weapon -- a shotgun. (Kept unloaded, so no family member will be accidentally harmed.)

The distinctive sound of a shotgun slide being operated -- chck - chck -- will send any burglar or invader running for his life ...

Didn't you just say that most people would have their weapons stolen and used against them?

Every situation/case is its own particular situation.

Yup. So best to keep the shotgun unloaded, so that it can't be used against you or by a family member. There are no universal 100% guarantees in life, are there … ???

But … If I'm in my bedroom, and the burglar/invader is down the hallway, and he hears the -- chck - chck -- it is very, very unlikely that he will run toward the sound of the shotgun slide ...
