Speak for yourself. I know a lot of people like myself that our guns make us a whole lot safer.
Someone breaks into my house, I want more than just a stick to protect myself.

Why don't you address Stan4's post about Auto Vehicles being more dangerous and causing way more deaths than guns.
Just think of all the people who would be alive today if we banned cars.
She's an ER Doctor and sees daily where the problem really lies.

Accidents? Or if the gun malfunctions?

..only those who can afford guns would be safer, just like in the global view only those who can afford nukes are influential, others who can cough up the $300 or so for getting a gun which they can wear openly will get bullied by those who do. I think that "open carry" business is a **** **** legislation and belongs in the crapper.

Gun rarely rarely ever cause an injury from malfunctions. Im sure you can find some but it happens rarely. And even of those that do happen most could have been prevented by doing proper checks on the gun before firing it.

As for accident, like I said, proper safety measures by the individual would prevent that as well.

Mental health counselor, here …

It's not true that a suicidal person will find a way … Most suicides are impulsive acts by persons experiencing a crisis … If the suicide is prevented, the person has another chance at life ...

A gun theoretically could malfunction in one example if it falls or someone drops it and it lands on the hammer and discharges. I've heard of that happening a few times. Most modern guns don't usually have that issue though, as they are made to not fire unless the trigger is pulled.

That would fall under accidental discharge. Would fall under improper handling of a firearm.
