The issue is the current system is set up so that it is perfectly fine that some people can stay on food stamps forever and pass this trait onto their next generation.
So what's your solution? How do you separate the wheat from the chaff? Without kicking children, the elderly, or the disabled under the bus? I'm sure all of us would love to hear it.

Pretty close, yeah, and you disprove your own point.

Should we reform aspects? Yes.

We need to understand that there are people that are not employable. People that cannot work. They will rather rob people or starve. I prefer to give them few hundreds a month and not to suffer from increase of crime rates.

Did you know, some states like Kansas won't let people buy potatoes on food stamps? They are relatively cheap, can be fixed many ways and can stretch meals. They also ban the buying of fish, one of the healthiest things you can eat.

It appears that food stamps aren't the problem. It's just that your boyfriend's family seem to be low class and likely aren't all that bright. I doubt taking away food stamps would change their poor behaviors.

The bans some states have enacted is on SHELLfish. No lobster or shrimp. They also don't ban potatoes.

Well, with the money they saved using Food Stamps, I'm sure they can buy the cheap Potatoes if they wanted.

you find kids and adults not on food stamps that have never tried many, many foods. pulling food stamps will not change eating habits only make it harder to feed the family.

trying new things is also about opportunity. I doubt you would find many kids wanting to eat duck. an acquired tasted for sure. I wouldn't eat it.

Save money? I don't know about Kansas, but in Missouri a family of three must have a net income less than $334 a month to qualify.
