The point, IMO, is that cops are being shot more and more in ALL parts of the country.
Are they? I really don't know because of raw numbers.
Or is it possible the 24/7 news cycle and Internet make us all more aware when it happens, anywhere?
On the flip side, there's an agenda driven study getting air time, that concluded a cop kills a black person every 28 hours. The reality is the study did not distinguish between those who were killed while engaging in violent criminal activity, including murder.
You can manipulate numbers to achieve any desired outcome.

I don't know about half the people.
I do know that many people seem to seize upon media reports that validate their existing perceptions on just about everything.
And another one folks. This is going to get much worse before citizens start killing these dirt bags. I say we need to "sweep" the streets in the ghettos in this country.
If anybody is interested, a white female police officer was just acquitted in the shooting death of a white male motorist in Dauphin County Pa. The guy was stupid( seems to be a common theme with many high profile shootings of people by police) and she was over zealous or trigger happy( also a common theme) and she was on trial for manslaughter. It just never got the media attention identical cases got. No wonder, there.
This Illinois guy was a head case and a thief. Its nice to know the little guys on the state and local level can still be brought to justice and be exposed.
Crickets from all the right wing authoritarian bloviators and apologists. No personal responsibility taken for being so disastrously wrong and jumping hastily to conclusions, something we heard constant lectures from the same group about during the Zimmerman and Michael Brown incidents. No surprise. Ideally they'd be slink off this board in shame but then again, this world ain't ideal.
