OP, they will just challenge your definition of "better".
Why did you even bother? Really?

Slavery in Canada includes both slavery as practiced by First Nations in land that now comprises Canada before European colonization, as well as slavery under European colonization, the latter of which legally existed into the 1830s. However that was not the end of human bondage in Canada as forms of slavery, human trafficking in particular, still occur today within its borders.

Modern day slavery in Canada

I stand corrected. Fortunately for Canada, only a few thousand slaves were brought there.

Yu do realize that this is a ( unlike USA) an election cycle which only lasts for 4-5 months ( unlike USA Political Cycles)..also American Dollar has been below Canadian ( especially post meltdown 2009) and finally our dollar becomes a good place to trade with due to lower $ values.. Economists understand that point!!

I lived thru a $.75 on US dollar for over decades ( '80-'90's)..during my years to invest and put away for retirement ...and NOW come 2015..NOW retired..I'm no way RICH..But able to make ends meet plus fix/replace/or do whatever's...So Puleeze..It's getting rather tiresome to claim your friendly neighbour to the north as some sort of failure..requiring a WALL to block us aweful Socialist out..and whatever....It truly is getting transparent..

IF recession is of concern..I certainly don't feel it..All my kids and their partners are working..making better wages than I ever did right along with Top notch benefits....

I keep hearing about cost of HC south of me..and folks even with support of Government.....Sovel's out thousands annually with all sorts of co-pays etc...

Hate to tell you all..I lived with average 20,000.00 ( give or take) annual income,> paid my taxes. + 15% sales tax on all services except certain foods...However..never got tagged to subsidize those who bilk the system..

Point is..Live within your means..don't live as if each day could be your last ..put away safely ( not in mattress) in order to provide for yourself once you age out working....In the meantime..I will never lose my home or saveing due to illness nor health issue ..Unlike my American Counterparts ??

Sometimes...Government needs to intervene of profits by business's and put good folks out on the street on the backs of "Profit margins"!! Call it whatever you want...Socialism..or just plain sharing the wealth and assist those who cannot help themselves..Demonizing those is just not so "Christian" as so many Conservatives wish say..BUT promote the opposite!

Maybe look inside your own dysfunction in USA...Stop trying to mock and demean another Country to make yourself feel better off...Sorry..I would never want to live in USA...My deceased War Vet husband never looked back post his service..Recall how Vietnam Vets were treated?? Kind of tells the tale!!

Canada will be just fine..Don't worry abut us..and make fun either!! Because Yes..Politics creates diversion...BUT citizens maintain cohesiveness..!!

The low dollar is great for my business, as all the product I produce is exported to the US....It is like getting a 25% raise in pay.

They will have to do something about the winters before I would go up there. It is pleasant in the summer.
