First of all Indonesia did have the bombing of the Bali night club by Islamists, in a Hindu or Buddhist area. Indonesia has had other violence as well.
As far as whether it's "worth it" do you drive? Heat your house? And it was Western oil companies that found the oil, not Imams.
Timothy McVeigh wasn't a Muslim was he? What caused him to blow crap up? There will always be "terrorists" regardless of race, political affiliation or religion. So you do admit that the war was for oil then?
On one end, the deal probably won't accomplish much. On the other, unstable theocracies are even less stable when they aren't allowed to have an economy.
There's no easy solution.

McVeigh's "partner" actually got some training from Islamists in the southern islands of the Philippines. And yes, a good part of the war was over keeping that part of the world somewhat governable, for protecting the West's oil.

Terrorism is the expression of views from those who have (or feel they have) no other way of expressing their view. ISIS is a result of failed US foreign policy.
