This is another problem that has no easy answer, just like the US immigration problem. Advocating for either side will make you a bad person.

There was a time when 350,000 people invading a country was seen as a hostile move. In our absurdly politically correct world today, we are supposed to feel sorry for the invaders.

"More than 350,000 migrants were detected at the EU's borders in January-August 2015, compared with 280,000 detections for the whole of 2014. ... The largest migrant group by nationality in 2015 is Syrians ..."

The point I made in an earlier post (I think it's on pg 5) is the European countries shouldn't have to get involved. There are a half dozen arab states that could easily absorb the refugees. Their migration wouldn't involve the hazards of crossing the mediterranean sea, and some of those countries are being crossed anyway by migrants trying to get into Europe.

I understand the desire of people to help, but let's think about the recent past. Every time people from the west try to intervene in muslim affairs, some muslim fundamentalist gets riled up and the westerners get shot. Can we please, please, PLEASE learn from our own mistakes and just stay the eff out of that region? While we're at it, let's quit helping Israel, maybe if they realize we don't always have their back no matter what they do, they'll start acting like a decent neighbor...? Nah, prolly not.

"Orban reiterated on Hungarian state radio Friday his determination to stop the refugees.

"Today we are talking about tens of thousands but next year we will be talking about millions and this has no end," Orban said.

"We have to make it clear that we can't allow everyone in, because if we allow everyone in, Europe is finished," Orban went on. "If you are rich and attractive to others, you also have to be strong because if not, they will take away what you have worked for and you will be poor, too."

It really is odd how poorly people treat their nations sovereignty.

Turkey and the Gulf dictatorships let their paranoia over the Shia and Kurds support every lunatic Sunni group in the region and bomb anyone that gets in their way (i.e. Yemen). Iran, the US, and Russia could not handle their differences like civilized people and instead had to play proxy war in Ukraine and Syria with none of the disastrous consequences reaching their shores. Western Europe is America's lackey that could never muster the foresight or compassion to blame itself for joining another one of America's disastrous and vicious foreign adventures.

If karma were real, the leaders of all of these countries would be summarily shot and left to the vultures. Yet we're blaming migrants for trying to escape the hell some fat, duplicitous, sociopathic leaders in some far away lands created for them.

No one is blaming the migrants. It's not their fault. However, just because it isn't their fault doesn't make taking them all in right either.
