So someone tells an employer they are not from the US, if the employer then asks them to show that they are eligible to work in the US, that is discrimination. Wow, I don't know what to say about that.
Simple and the law currently. Require proof of citizenship or right to work status from all new employees. Even the blonde hair blue eyed daughter of your best friend. Been there, done that. It's the law.

My self- managed HOA hires 30+/- part time lifeguards each summer. These are high school and college students with life guard certification. All are processed through e- verify. Takes 1-2 minutes. No hardship.

Treating all job applicants alike is HR 101. Complying with labor laws is actually easier than cherry picking. This meat packing plant discriminated because it chose to not treat all applicants alike.

Does this meat packing plant employ someone's sister who has no familiarity with the most basic labor laws to run their HR function?

You process all applicants through e- verify.

It really is this simple.

Yes, but there are a lot of people against e-verify. People went crazy when Trump suggested it.

Being against e-verify means you either don't understand it, or suffer from some other kind of anti-government lunacy.

Pretty much it.

e-verify takes a minute or two per applicant. Treating all applicants the same is so fundamental that you have to be an idiot or trying to discriminate not to do it.

Its no surprise they do work under Obama who does not believe in rule of law. In fact he make Nixon look like a Boy Scout in that regard.

Or you are trying to hire illegal immigrants.
