Of course, someone like Sarah Palin, who apparently does even bother to read a newspaper in any language --
Well, let's just say, "Lipstick …"
Here in the U.S. learning another language is pretty useless unless you are in the tourist industry or have a job dealing with foreign countries. Even at that English is the business language of the world. Much better spending your time learning a trade or increasing your skills for a good job.

Learning an *other* language is good for the mind and soul …
It opens one up to another entire culture and ways of expression …
It also makes one a better speaker/user of one's first language ...

I just like to remind people that the Democrats tried to convince America that this man (Biden) was the very best candidate for VP that could be found.

Joe Biden has been a wonderful U. S. Senator, Vice President, and if he jumps into the 2016 race, I will support him with zest …

He is smart, highly experienced, wise, and of excellent character ...

LOL! Sarah Palin and many of her admirers speak Gerbil. Actual "American" is a number of remedial classes beyond them still.

The church has just decreed that retired clergy in America must pass a Spanish language test to continue receiving their pensions. You have six months to raise your proficiency to Jeb! levels or you won't get paid. Now how do you feel about it?

(1) Facts not in evidence …

(2) Watching Sesame Street with kids and now grandkids, I have already picked up a smattering of Spanish …

(3) Having studied and used German, Koine Greek, and Hebrew, I would be able to pick up Spanish ...

A smattering will not do. No more Greek or grandkid time. You live in a bilingual country now so learn Spanish or lose your livelihood.

Again, facts not in evidence … No case, so it is dismissed …

But, again, ability to speak and understand more than one language is a good thing …

What do you have against effective meaningful interpersonal communication in society … ???

Do you object to the (paid) presence of an interpreter for those who are hearing impaired … ???
