Kim Davis cares to differ. THAT is why we care. Because when we object we are attacked and thrown in jail. Soon it won't just be clerks of court...it will be preachers, churches, pastors, cake makers, florists, photographers etc etc. Running people of out business but hey long as we make our point to force them to do as we say or else!
I wonder how many people who are support this lady also bash Obama for not following the law.
No dear, that was sarcasm. If a grown adult really did threaten to hold their breath until they got their own way like a 2 year old throwing a tantrum, I would call a mental health team.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
To clarify, Congress shall not endorse any one religion over any other, shall not endorse the establishment of one religion over any other, nor shall Congress issue any laws that makes the following of any religion illegal.
Kim Davis was jailed OF HER OWN CHOICE. She refused to follow a court order that required her to do her job.
Her job was HER CHOICE. She could have chosen to be a teacher, or a pastor, or a wal mart cashier. She CHOSE to be a County Clerk and took an oath to follow the laws to do her job.
He actually make a good legal point: If the federal government (via the Supreme Court) is now making law (via court rulings) on marital matters, does that not make marriage a federal matter and not a state matter?

Are you aware of the SCOTUS ruling on Loving v. Virginia in 1967?
Quote:
Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1 (1967) is a landmark civil rights decision of the United States Supreme Court, which invalidated laws prohibiting interracial marriage.
However, if you want marriage licenses and divorces granted via a federal agency, it would solve a lot of problems, especially from those southern states.
They were shut down or fined or thrown in jail for refusing to violate their first amendment rights. Simple as that. Not going to argue with someone that's clearly wrong and clearly has an agenda.
Are you really this dense? I mean, really? I hope you are just a troll, because if you can not understand the difference in being jailed for "not violating their first amendment rights", and being jailed for contempt of court, then that is just sad. She BROKE THE LAW and the court told her to stop breaking the law or go to jail.
She could have just resigned if it was so utterly important to her. She chose to discriminate and BREAK THE LAW. Please stop watching FauxNews and taking your preachers word for everything. They are leading you astray. Anybody with even half sense can tell the difference. Stop playing the woe is me card, and get your head out of your butt. K? Thanks!
Two kinds of marriage will emerge: government marriage and sacred marriage.
Watch.
That is how it already is.
The government issues licenses and certificates for legal marriage. The church can do sacramental marriage.
You can have a government marriage with no church involvement, and you can have a religious ceremony without any government recognition.
Religion is a plague. The day it's relegated to the history books cannot come soon enough.
I feel the same way about atheists.
Especially since this has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with a Supreme Court that has been way, way, way out of it's depth lately yet a damned idiot atheist chimes in anyway.
