Why are entertainers and athletes considered the best place to choose a role model? Exposure it seems is the reasoning, for which I believe is wrong. Sure, many entertainers and athletes do things behind the scenes for their community or charitable organizations (of their own or others), but it never seems to be the core message sent to children. Instead it's something like - "look at her, a powerful woman". So $$ success is the basis for a role model? Humans are strange.
Seriously--Laura Bush? You do know she was speeding, ran a stop sign, killed a young man, and received no penalty for it? Not very classy in my opinion.

it was investigated and declared an accident...if she was already in politics sure Id be suspect...but the investigation concluded it was clearly an accident...the stop sign was very hard to see,,,they even repositioned it afterwards and cleared brush away

See there you go assuming things about people. While Beyoncé for sure got paid more for her work as a stripper than I did as a business owner and should have paid far more in taxes than I; Barry and Mick didn't come close. Pretty sure that's the case with a lot of people. While vastly overpaid for his performance, he only makes around 400k.
Jay-Z is one of the biggest Rags to riches stories in the History of this country. Yes he sold drugs in his youth,( it is still undetermined who brought Cocaine into the Untied States in the 80's) but he tells kids all the time, "Don't be like then, be like me now"

Interesting. For highly educated professionals, they don't make much money. Unless you're already rich, being president would seem to be an investment in post-presidential speaking, writing, consulting, and board fees.
