There's no conspiracy or hidden data. They've been measuring unemployment the same basic way for decades. The low labor participation rate is primarily due to the largest generation retiring and the next largest generation remaining in school longer.

The economy is strong and growing steadily.
The largest generation is the millennial generation now.
The boomers are no longer the largest generation.

And employment among 55+ is at historical highs as more boomers put off retirement.

Just because you go on welfare doesn't mean you are no longer unemployed

Cuomo is so clueless. Typical politician who knows nothing about business. Sadly many businesses will close as they can't afford to operate. More depressed areas will appear. Our young troops don't make $15 an hour, yet they're required to put their life on the line and now someone flipping a burger gets paid more than them. On top of that Obama wants to cut their benefits and pay. We need to stop re-electing professional politicians.

I promise you will that you will be healthier, wealthier, and happier once you get out.

Just never vote Democrat lest the problems you left get recreated in your new home.

Cuomo is positioning himself as a progressive/liberal/democrat the better to brush up his C.V. on the national political stage. While he will not run for the WH in 2016 there is always 2020 hence also plans to park himself in Albany for another term to wait things out.

By most accounts Cuomo was the blue-eyed boy of the Democratic party early in his first term. What between forcing through gay marriage, brining in a budget on time and so forth New York was looking pretty good for 2016. From that he has gone to ABC (Anyone But Cuomo) and while every other democrat and his mother is running against HC, is forced by circumstances to sit this one out.
