That is one the reasons, when they use this 78 cents on the dollar figure one has to realize it's a simple average of the entire population. Women on average have shorter careers and will make less on average becsue of that. There is other reasons too; women choose careers that pay less, they are less likely to work overtime, they are less likely to do high paying dangerous jobs, they are less likely to do high paying jobs that require them to be away from home for extended periods...

I know a welder with HS diploma making 6 figures. The particular job he does is very dirty, dangerous, requires long hours and he's away from home for weeks. There is not many women willing to take that job on and even if they were it's questionable the average woman is going to have the same performance level. It's very physical job working 12 to 14 hour shifts, 7 days a week for weeks straight.

This s sounds like an apologetic for the Den double standard.

What a great example of the problem.

First is the deflection of the issue. This is about what Hillary is doing. We already have laws that make equal pay for equal work the law. The government always exclude's itself from these laws.

So what good would a new law do here? Should someone like Hillary need a law to force her to pay equal wages or is it something she should just do?

SO, we already have laws that make equal pay for equal work the law. If it's not being enforced, what good is another law and if the government continues to exclude itself from the laws it passes, what good is another law here at all?

Most likely this is true, but it's true everywhere. As I note above, we already have laws that make equal pay for equal work the law. On a rare occasion there will be those who do not follow those rules and get sued. That it's a pretty rare happening shows that new laws are not needed.

But Hillary deserves all the scorn heaped upon her for doing exactly what those she would demonize are doing. Following the law.

We're not talking about the Republicans here, we're talking about Hilary Clinton paying women less than men. Or, are you saying that there would have to be a federal law requiring equal pay for women before Hilary would pay women the same as men.
This is how the Left thinks. They talk all the talk but do nothing because there isn't a law forcing them to do so. If this was so important to them how come they didn't pass this when they controlled everything? Where is Obama's pen and phone on this?

As has been pointed out before, this is the same basis on which Democrats complain there is a pay differential between men and women across the greater economy. However, when you take into account specific positions and the average salaries for those, considering work experience and such, there is no differential.

But since Democrats continue to make this exact case to support their "war on women" lies, it is reasonable to make it against them, the lying hypocrites.

So now Hillary Clinton gets to eat some of her own home cooking. And Barack Obama deserves a serving too, as it is the exact same scenario in the white house. Men make more than women by a sizable amount there.

Did anyone expect any different from The King? The King only has contempt for those she claims to support.

Once education, marital status and occupations are considered, the 'gender wage gap' all but disappears.

The 23% gap implies that women work an extra 68 days to earn the same pay as a man. Mr. Obama advocates allowing women to sue for wage discrimination, with employers bearing the burden of proving they did not discriminate. But the numbers bandied about to make the claim of widespread discrimination are fundamentally misleading and economically illogical.
Yes, men make more money because men are twice as likely to work full time as opposed to part time.

Yes, men make more money because men are twice as likely to work full time as opposed to part time.
In addition, the Paycheck Fairness Act, while being largely redundant of existing laws, puts the burden of proving pay fairness and no discrimination on the employers, making hiring women less attractive than hiring a man with equal experience. If the woman sues the company for pay discrimination, regardless if its true or not, the company has to deal with the expense and hassle of fighting these claims.

The reality is, these laws the Republicans voted against would have hurt, not help women.
