Let's assume that cops are cruel, officious thugs who abuse people for almost any reason. If some one does something wrong, cops will go over board, and injure people no little reason. OK?
So, if all those assumptions are true, isn't it dumb to do those things, especially around cops? If I see a poisonous snake, I know he might bite, so I give him a wide berth. Yet, most people who get bite, are screwing with a snake. Chris Rock makes everything very clear.

We don't intentionally populate our cities with snakes and we sure as hell don't grant them access to guns and permission to use them.
It seems to me if you are granted the power to kill someone, you should be held to a higher standard.
Additionally, I'm sorry to say, risking your life is part of the job. If you don't want to risk your life, don't take the job.
Um, Wow.
I was granted the power to kill someone? Thirty years later and you're just telling me now? After I'm retired? Cr*p!
Police officers are not granted the power to kill anyone. They are given the same authority the law gives everyone - the authority to employ potentially lethal force to stop an attack that is likely to result in death or great bodily harm. I could do it as a cop and I can still do it as a retiree. So can my wife.
The difference between police officers and my (non-cop) wife is that cops are repeatedly sent into situations where defending against such an attack is a very real possibility, whereas my wife (and virtually all other civilians) simply go about their lives and, statistically, will probably never run into that situation.
That 'higher standard' you reference is called training. The law, however, treats all trigger-pullers the same. Was there a threat of death or great bodily harm? If so, the shooting was justified. If not, get out the little silver bracelets; you are going to jail.
So many humans are their own worst enemy.
Everybody knows that if you fight the cops,
you're gonna get treated rudely.
Yet people seem compelled to act stupidly.
If all those assumptions are true, then you're blaming the victim.
Great job
They wouldn't be victims if they stop acting like hood rats and behave like civilized people.
