The Liberals will tell you it is based on second hand smoke.

"The finding implies that the autoimmune disease may arise as an unintended consequence of the body’s own immune response to a developing cancer, which in certain patients will never become clinically evident."

The #1 cause would be abortion.

According to cancer.gov "the incidence of childhood cancer has been rising slightly in recent decades and that survival rates overall are improving".

It is not clear to me whether cancer rates have increased so much that now cancer is the leading cause of death in children, or that the other causes of death (such as infectious diseases and accidents) have decreased so much that cancer is now #1 (even if the cancer rate hasn't changed that much). Those two scenarios may lead to very different policies.

In any case, it is also positive to see that among children who get cancer, their survival rates have improved.

Is cancer #1 killer of adults, too? Nope.

I guess adults don't eat that chit, but force their kids to eat them.

The facts destroy your narrative.

It is not "the Number One cause of childhood death in the US".

It is (from the ABC article) "the leading cause of childhood death by disease in the United States".

The childhood cancer rate has not increased but, thanks to modern science, the survival rate has improved.

CHART - the 10 Leading Causes of Death by Age Group, United States - 2013

" National Cancer Institute statistics show that in the U.S. the combined, an overall five-year cancer survival rate for children under 19 with cancer has increased from 62 percent in the mid-1970s to 84 percent today. For the most common type of childhood cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the cure rate is now over 90 percent.

"We've made amazing progress on pediatric cancers in just one generation. It's the biggest success story in cancer right now,"

Let's stop vaccinating, then - put TB or polio back in the #1 spot, as per tradition.

Is this hard or something? There will always be a disease in the #1 spot, and we've gotten really good at beating back the traditional, natural causes of child mortality. Thanks in no little part to - vaccines.

That's the problem, so many vaxxers believe in a movement started by a washed up Playboy bunny . . . whose son miraculously has been "cured" of autism.
