No one takes you seriously, when you repeatedly mention the colour of someone's skin, in a conversation about pharmaceutical drugs. Moron.

been going on for longer than that

its AGAINST THE FEDERAL LAW to buy drugs from outside the country

http://www.fda.gov/ForIndustry/Impor...ct/default.htm

Policy on Importation of Drugs (1998)
The United States Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Act) (21 U.S.C. section 331) prohibits the interstate shipment (which includes importation) of unapproved new drugs. Thus, the importation of drugs that lack FDA approval, whether for personal use or otherwise, violates the Act. Unapproved new drugs are any drugs, including foreign-made versions of U.S. approved drugs, that have not been manufactured in accordance with and pursuant to an FDA approval. Under the Act, FDA may refuse admission to any drug that "appears" to be unapproved, placing the burden on the importer to prove that the drug sought to be imported is in fact approved by FDA. Absent evidence that the specific drugs sought to be imported from a foreign country/area have been manufactured pursuant to an approved new drug application, in the manufacturing facility permitted under the application, such drugs would appear to be unapproved new drugs subject to FDA enforcement action.

Imported, Counterfeit, and Unapproved Drugs

=======================

all in the name of liberal big government watching you safety

here is one on a speccific drug
Counterfeit Versions of Cialis tablets identified entering the United States
FDA is alerting consumers and health care professionals that counterfeit versions of Cialis 20 mg tablets were found in the mail on its way to a U.S. consumer. While this shipment was stopped, FDA is concerned about other possible mail shipments to consumers. FDA laboratory analysis showed the counterfeit versions contain multiple active ingredients, which if used could result in adverse effects or harm. Consumers should only buy prescription medicines from state-licensed pharmacies located in the U.S.

this is why....the big nanny government must keep you safe....even if it costs you 5000% more

Seriously though the ACA is a great thing, thats helped a ton of people. Sorry you seem upset by it. I agree it would have been better without the drug companies getting involved, but thats kind of the point of this topic, not your unreasoning dislike of Obama, and desire to blame him for the activities of others in this case.
uhm

the FACT is he was '''suppossed''' to be about 'hope and change', more transparancy, less medical cost, and less lobbiest

like all liberals, he lied, and the sheeple fell for it

did you miss the part I bolded re: 'high development costs'?

there are no development costs for a 62 year old drug.

And the people that have been staying alive on the drug for years? Any thoughts on what they should do?

Here is the thing.

The President and the congress could get together today, get a bill written and passed that would allow the generic version of this drug, that is being used all over the globe to be sold in the USA>

it could be on shelves in 2 or 3 months max.

That could be done IF we had a government that really cared about the people and not about their own political power games.

they will not do this.

right now its looking like the democrats are going to use this as a wedge issue.... and having an issue to use is far better than any solution. if you care about political power.

This sadly is a drug that doesn't have a replacement, that is what the problem is.

It IS a wedge issue. It's new to the news cycle, but I bet we hear a lot more about it quickly. This is a life saving drug that most people will never need, so they have a lock on it. You are correct that the problem can be fixed. But the congress is run by the GOP and they are the type of politicians that will shut down the entire government about a single issue they don't agree with, what makes you think they will do something against a blatant capitailist making money on the backs of critically ill people.

Well I am a liberal, and I don't lie about anything! Ever. Even when it's best I did. So keep your lying opinions to yourself. They mean nothing, and carry no value.
