Today is Bi Visibility Day. I am proudly bisexual.

So this is a roll call to see if anyone else in here is prepared to be "visible" today. I can't believe I'm the only one, but I know this forum is generally quite socially conservative.

You're welcome to bring some of your friends over to my house and be as visible about it as you like.

On a serious note, why do people have to be visible about their sexuality? Conservative or not, I don't see the need to have people of any sexual orientation making out everywhere.

Grr! See that's one of the stereotypes of bisexuals....that we are all promiscuous and into threesomes.

It's because people in the gay community try to "erase" us and straight people see us as a fetish.

Anyway happy bi visibility day to anyone who isn't monosexual.

I have never heard of Bi Visibility Day! Thanks for posting and I hope you have a great day!

As far as the reply you received above, these boards have a lot of people with a lot of opinions. I used to get all worked up at some of the postings. I am trying to not let what others think or say have any affect on my mood whatsoever. It is very freeing for me when people can post just about anything and I don't have any response but an eye roll most of the time. (Can't change others, can change myself

Thank you. For me, every day is bi visibility day. I am very open about my sexuality and aim to educate and disprove stereotypes. It is also about celebrating love.

Thank you. I'm just spreading the word and wondering if anyone else on this forum will choose to be visible today. It's something to be celebrated.

I think it's uncool to publicly demonstrate one's sexual preferences, and yes that includes heteros who -- back in the day more often than today -- would have their arm around their partner while driving a car or "necking" while walking down the street.

How does one make their bisexuality visible? (Serious question)

By telling people that they're proudly bisexual, I guess.
