Because Obama is trying to close down Gitmo. The world is all safe now and no need to house the world's terrorists. We won.
What right does the USA have to imprison a person who may have only been a valet , body guard o cook to Bin Laden. These are not in them selves terrorist acts! The US military has abjectly failed to provide justice for these unfortunate prisoners many who have never even been told the charges against them or been allowed a proper chance to defend themselves.Many have been American prisoners for over a decade Only the worst of modern dictators and War Criminals feel this is the way one handles people in State Custody! Gitmo lowers America to the level of Mao's China, Stalin's USSR, Hitler's Germany or Saddam's Iraq. How much mud do you think Old Glory should be dragged through?

Exactly. We run around the world preaching freedom and the virtues of our constitutional republic while we imprison people for years on end, deny them habeas corpus, and refuse to charge them with anything but refuse to release them as well. True patriots who really love the constitution and the principles this country were founded on should be outraged.
