My theory is its full of old retirees with nothing better to do, but I'm really not sure. Any other ideas?

What are you talking about? This forum is positively infested with extreme left radicals and loons.

To many people, any forum that isn't like DU is "right wing".

Up until the re-election of Barack Obama, I'd've said the reason for the forum being right-of-center (to the extent that it may be) is because America is a center-right country. I'm not so sure that's true anymore.

Frankly, I don't think this forum tips all that much to the right, anyway; I think it's pretty evenly balanced.

Maybe most of the left wing idiots are on other forums.

It seems pretty balanced compared with others that are out there.

I notice something interesting whenever I participate in a thread with a poll. The written responses often seem to me to weighted toward the right, while the poll results seem weighted toward the center or even the left, depending on the subject.

Someday when this retired lefty gets especially curious, I'll do some counting. But I actually suspect that all of us, whenever we feel especially strongly about a subject, will either notice most the posts we agree with (yeah, you tell 'em!) or the ones we disagree with (what a moron!).

That is probably true and I'm glad I don't have to read that garbage. But why is this one so hard core right leaning?

Not sure. It used to be extremely left-wing several years ago.

It is. It has idiots from both ends of the spectrum. I'm pretty sure when the President is Republican more threads will be about bashing right wing policy.
