FYI, a NP can do a pap smear. And it's frequently less uncomfortable because a large percentage of NPs are women.
Have you ever had to get a colposcopy? Do you know what it is? Somehow, I doubt it. See, you go to a GYNECOLOGIST when you need a colposcopy.

They can if they wish. So can a NP. Or a pediatrician. Or a family practitioner.

Not necessarily, as I've already explained.

Just because they can doesn't mean they should. Which is why family practitioners and others refer people to specialists. Because the specialists have more experience and are educated especially to address specific medical issues. Planned Parenthood doctors have a vast amount of experience and education focusing on reproductive issues, for men and women, which is why they occupy a special niche in medical clinics. If you close down Planned Parenthood, you essentially create a vacuum where once women had a resource, and now they don't. If may not be a resource you value, but millions of women use Planned Parenthood each year, they do value that resource, and if you take it away, it impacts all medical providers, by shifting their patient load onto other already over-burdened medical providers.

We don't need PP, because you can go to CVS or the grocery store for all of your medical needs now.

I never had a gynecologist and just had whoever my GP was take care of routine things. UNTIL THINGS WERE NOT ROUTINE ANYMORE. That's right. When my GP spotted trouble I was off to a gynecologist and from there I was off to an even more specialize gynecologist. I won't go into details but nothing that was done after my GP referral was considered routine and would not be done by a NP or at CVS for god's sake...

I suppose if there were no problems and no specialists a person can be under the care of their neighborhood GP or NP or even someone handy with medical knowledge. But don't plan on that working out when a test comes back wonky.

Not quite. Even if you twist things around, and claim that giving them Medicaid is somehow different than giving them money, there is still millions of dollars of non-Medicaid monies given to PP.

And if no federal dollars go to PP anyway, why do liberals have their panties in a bunch about cutting federal funding? If there it NONE, then there's nothing to worry about, right?

Do federal dollars go toward building, staff and equipment? So yea, it goes toward abortions.

According to some folks on this forum, they magically disappear when you get older, so it stands to reason.....

Many hospitals do abortions and accept medicaid for other services. Should their medicaid payments be cut off too?
