I am personally anti-abortion. But I do know that there is a sever lack of health care options for women, especially poor women in the US. I also know a load of bull when I read it and in no way did Planned Parenthood decline to see your pregnant partner unless she wanted an abortion, if you even even darkened their door.

Call your congressman and advocate the government start opening low costs clinics or advocate for single payer. Otherwise what are the options?

Let the Republicans make this their hill they rally around. It just shows how out of touch and oblivious most of them really are.

If you don't like Planned Parenthood doing what they do, why give your local hospital a pass?
In most states, a miscarried fetus less than 21 weeks, is considered a surgical specimen and disposed accordingly.

Fetal tissue may or may not be harvested.

According to their own website, they only offer free/sliding fee scale services if you provide proof of no/low income by: 4 weeks of pay stubs, proof of the receipt of unemployment benefits, or documentation (Dr affidavit or SSDI status) that you are unable to work.

Illegals working for cash and high school and college women typically can't meet any of those requirements. I've known high school girls that were charged full price by PP in the Chicago area for contraceptive services, even though they had no job and no income and said so. I suggested they go to the public community health clinics, instead. They did. Free services. That's a much better use of taxpayer money than giving it to PP.
That is not true at all, other free clinics also use a sliding scale pointing out some exceptions to the rule for PP does not make a case. Many clinics are funded through title X, why are we just discussing PP, why send women that are satisfied with their health care to another clinic that aslo receives government funding.

May or may not, but at least cells are certainly harvested for research labs.

Default Richard's Congressional Testimony

Shouldn't happen, but federal funding to Planned Parenthood (P.P.) is a political football.

Seems to me that P.P. makes a ton of money from abortions as they are the main surgical procedure done by the centers (out of the two surgical procedure it performs). Seems P.P. refers its clients to medical centers for everything else, even mammograms. So it acts as a gatekeeper in the community and it is really a consultant. Has a Clinton foundation feel to it. Ms. Richards makes $550-600 K @ yr., it has huge travel expenses, and operates two independent (wink wink* Nudge Nudge*) political slush funds.

I think birth control is where they make the majority of their money, not abortions.
