It comes down to this: Which devout Christian is lying? The Pope or Kim Davis?

Quite a quandary for the faithful. LOL
From listening to her attorney and reading the Vatican's reaction it seems like the visit was coordinated between the attorneys and someone within the US Vatican Embassy. The Pope had no idea who she was and the "christian" attorney was really stretching the truth when implying to NPR that it was a personal and private audience, which it was not.

That doesn't negate what Kim Davis claims the Pope said to her.

"Oh, out of the dozens? hundreds? of people in this room, he was looking right at me when he said it!"

I am under no illusion that the Pope is pro-same sex marriage. He views marriage as a religious institution and as the basis for family and procreation. But he's made it clear that he's not one to get mixed up in the petty internal politics of a country.

It's come to light that Ms. Davis was likely invited by the Vatican Ammasaader to teh US who is an outspoken opponant to same sex marriage. Ms. Davis was among a group of people to meet the Pope and it was not a private encounter as insinuated by her Liberty Counsel Attorney. They are now backing off statements made to NPR earlier in the week that made it seem like the Pope was endorsing Ms. Davis' actions.

So either the Vatican is back-peddling hard, or they are doing damage control from something done by their ambassador in cahoots with the less than honest attorneys at the Liberty Counsel.

Not sure what's so special about her meeting. The Pope met with a lot of people privately, including a gay couple.

This just in -

"...the recent meeting between the two ought not to be seen as a “form of support of her position”...

Vatican: pope did not show support for Kim Davis | World news | The Guardian

Edited to add - I think Davis is getting some pretty dubious "help" - in that her "help" is not helping her cause!

This. I'm more inclined to believe that Kim Davis is just nuts. After reports of her having a private audience with the Pope, it turns out that she was just one of dozens in the room.

Again, none of that changes what Kim Davis CLAIMS transpired between her and the Pope.

When Kim Davis got to the front of the line and was face to face with the Pope, what did he say to her? They didn't have to be alone in a room to exchange words.

Or......did the Pope stand separate from the crowd and address them all as one?

Someone is lying.

The Vatican issued a statement that meeting with her does not constitute support. The Pope also met with a gay married couple.

And I bet he told them to "stay strong" too.

Poor lil Kimmy. Trying so hard to pretend the Pope supported her even when the Pope has come right out and said, nope, I never said that, and in fact, I regret meeting with you all together.

That seems pretty definitive to me.
