"U.S. President Barack Obama will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week while both men are in New York for the United Nations General Assembly at Putin's request, a senior Obama administration official said on Thursday."

Obama to meet Putin at Russian leader's request: U.S. official | Reuters

It's interesting that he approached Obama and requested the meeting. Just think, if we had President Fiorina, she would have refused the request.

I know.

She looks so angry and scary when she talks about Putin and Russia. A typical hawk. Annoying as hell

But she would because you rise to the occasion of the moment. She would do a better job in talks with Putin that Obama or any Bush (papa Bush would know how to handle Putin though).

Do a better job?

She tweeted

Putin won't listen to talk. We need leadership and resolve. Pitch in $3.

She also said Russia is a bad actor, talking to Russia is a bad idea.

The context in which you talk to Russia could be a bad idea. That is not to say that you should never talk to Russia. Selectivity of discussion is a powerful diplomatic tool. Either way, I wouldn't read too much into a vague statement like that and then attach an absolutism to it.

The meeting was arranged and announced more than a month ago.

Slow news day for Reuters?

Putin must be coming to capitalize on the "space" Obama promised him on missile defense due to the "flexibility" he would have after he no longer has to answer to voters.

Yes, our President is a worthless sell out.

She goes on to say that she would build a position of power (through a stronger military) that will give our nation the ability to talk/bargain from a position of strength. This is basic wisdom when dealing with Russia (and the older USSR). Next.
