How can the budget be balanced but the debt increased? Keep lying to yourself if it helps you sleep at night.

Wow, it's been almost 7 years under Obama and liberals are still pulling the "blame Bush" card? It just never ends.

Write to your Congressmen. The Congress controls the spending, not the president. It does not seem like you knew that.

I'd like for ONE PERSON in this thread - liberal or conservative - that can tell me that is in any way acceptable?

Those numbers are meaningless when pointing the finger of blame. All they say is how much we are in debt.
Have you calculated the effect of tax income reductions that came from the enormous windfalls the rich enjoyed under tax cutting efforts like the Norquist Tax Pledge?
Have you researched the bills that came before Congress and determined if Congressional spending can be faulted?
Have you considered the cost of the US being in debt?
Have you calculated the cost of Americans choosing to buy cheap Chinese products over products made in America?
Have you added up the cost of unofficially being continually at war for over 20 years and who approved those actions?
Have you researched the effect the vanishing middle class has had on tax income for the US? What about the effect all the jobs outsourced to other countries has had? Or the effect corporate welfare has had?
There's a lot of reasons we are in debt and there's no way one man can be blamed for it all. The people most at blame are the ones we repeatedly vote into office who, time and again, do whatever will benefit them and their major "contributors" and ignore the damage it does to this country or its people.
We have to learn to be more responsible voters. Until we do, we should blame ourselves for the actions of our elected officials and for not doing all we can to keep this country strong.

$20 trillion ... no big deal. Maybe the libs can open a couple of super meth labs, get Walt's formula, and make a deal with the Mexican cartels. We'd have that $20 trillion back in no time ...

So, we have an Obama supporter who supports shutting down the government when Obama demands debt spending.
Great!

The O-cult blames congress for the debt... so when they're with O.
The O-cult blames congress as obstructionists when they are against O.
For them, nothing is ever O's fault. Ever.

Obama did not get my vote. I am simply explaining the basics of how this country works, since so many don't have a clue.
