You can lessen the number of massacres by common sense laws. But you can not 100% stop it.

Which "common sense" law is that? Allowing teachers to carry?

Yep. Growing up, I didn't have much experience with guns, even though there were plenty in the house between my step dad, and step brother. My mom wouldn't let them teach me how to shoot. However; having said that, I knew full well that they weren't toys, they weren't mine, to always assume that they're loaded, and basically to keep my damn hands off of stuff that doesn't belong to me! So my son I feel is fortunate to learn at a younger age than I did, and gain some hands on experience. I don't regret teaching him, and will continue to educate him on how to safely handle them.

Uh, yes they have.

Prior to 1996 gun grab:

7 mass murders with a knife
0 mass murders with fire
0 mass murders with baseball bat
0 mass murders with hammer

After 1996 gun grab:

8 mass murders with knife
35 mass murders with fire
3 mass murders with baseball bat
5 mass murders with hammer

Cue the "those FACTS are not true" whine.....

Eliminate gun free zones, for starters. Virtually EVERY mass killing by gun has happened in a gun free zone in the past years.

Ten years ago, no one ever said we should put firearms in schools, either. Yet here we are. Really, if you're trying to insinuate that the pro-gun faction is largely reasonable people ruled by logic and not prone to hysteria and paranoia, you're too late. That ship sailed back around Post #12. LOL

Yet no link to where the numbers come from.

It isn't pro gun people that are hysterical... It's people like you that are hysterical. I know LOTS of gun owners. They are all rational, decent people. Not knee jerk reactionaries like the pot banging, hysterical Left.

And nobody, ever, would suggest allowing kids to carry submachine guns to school. The idea is total idiocy on its face. But there may be some merit to having armed protection on school campuses. They've been doing that for decades in Israel and they haven't had a school shooting since 1974.
