I had a dear friend remind me that I don't create enough threads so this one is in their honor.

We are all aware of stalkers of celebrities with such psychos as John Hinkley and whatnot.

But are there any real political stalker\groupies out there that wind up following around people like Palin or Biden or other 2nd tier types? Obviously the POTUS gets lotsa nutjobs. I would suspect the Kennedy's, Bush's etc. have more than a few as well.

Yeah, people who go beyond venting their beliefs and frustrations on a forum like this to actually following people around and obsessing over them. Too many nuts out there.

I bet every politician could tell you stories.

Very true.

Some people just have a screw loose and follow people around for odd reasons.

I'm glad I created this thread. Some people really need to know that they are acting stupidly and should get professional help.

Some people are incredibly obsessed with politics. I don't understand it, but it's a strange phenomenon.

Yeah, I have some older relatives that I'd sooner jump in front of a bus than discuss politics with them. With some I think it's age-related mental disorders.

This hits close to home. I have had this experience myself when a now banned member of this forum stalked me and my wife because he doesn't agree with my political views. Just how sick is that? He still obsesses over me to this day. WTH?

Tell your friend to not bring this up again.

I think Palin is first tier because of publicity. That's what drives it imo not political "rank". With the security staff that comes with a political job, stalkers don't have much of a chance for a long life.

Bristol Palin has a stalker. A really crazy one.

Not only he's a stalker but has poor taste. No doubt he is mentally ill
