What would Iran use to shoot down the Russian missiles? The pits of dates?

They are showing the world that when it comes to the supposed prowess of the Russian military, there is a tremendous amount of hype. US cruise missile can hit a target the size of a pack of cigarettes, while Russian cruise missile are zip code bombs.

actually I specifically remember some U.S cruise missiles landed in Iran during desert storm and shock and Awe.

Missiles do lose their way from time to time. especially cruise missiles. because their navigation system is quite adaptive in nature as opposed to ballistic missiles.

The cost is over $1M per missile, Russia doesn't have this kind of money. I guess the thinking was what else are we going to do with them, like old ammunition and they could prove how powerful they were while demonstrating the sad state of their military equipment.

4 out of 16 is sub par even in baseball

You should not alter people's posts as a way of responding, the moderators frown on that, as do many people, who object to their posts being altered. Just some advice.

I was having a bit of fun, is all. A zip code bomb is a sort of joke in the military, commonly applied to nuclear bombs. Since nukes are so destructive they only need to hit the zip code of the target to be effective.

The cruise missiles of today are much more accurate then they were back in the early 1990s.

I don't know. I just find the whole thing hysterical.

The CASPIAN SEA? REALLY?! Why does Russia maintain a fleet in the landlocked Caspian Sea? Should we start maintaining a navy fleet in Salt Lake, Utah? How about The Salton Sea?

I mean, if you can't even hit the right country with a cruise missile, how good are you? Did it just run out of fuel? Hit a headwind?
