Saudi Arabia has been our "buddy" for a while, at times increasing the flow of oil to moderate the price. Now that we are producing more than we can use they are pumping like crazy to kill our shale oil production. They are no longer our allies at all. Pull out of the ME and watch them cry for us to come back. Then wait for a year or two to see what they do.

They SHOULD deal with it. It's their region, their problems. Saudi Arabia has its tentacles in Yemen and Syria as does Iran. I don't think Bernie is saying we will force them to directly, but that the US is washing its hands of the region. Which I would support 100%.
Didn't the US cause these problems by creating a void of power when they went in and toppled the standing Gov'ts and allowed ISIS to basically fill the void?
The Wealthy middle eastern countries can simply point a finger back to to the US and say "You caused this...you clean it up"
I would say they are dealing with it exactly as they want...sending their warriors to Europe who will be paid out of the taxes on Euro workers, who will then marry Euro women or bring their multiple wives over to have many kids so that they can eventually take over the Euro democracies through the ballot box. The rich ME nations are building Mosques in Europe to support this operation.

Some of it was caused by Bush's genius decision to invade Iraq but I don't think that the US is to blame for Syria. That was part of the Arab Spring failed experiment. The US did not create the power vacuum in Syria. And the wealthy Arab nations aren't innocent, they've been meddling in some of those countries for decades.
