It's depressing to see so many people that are out to make Tamir into a "thug" or the police officer into some monster looking to "execute" a black kid.
It's a tragic event where Tamir made a mistake and then an inexperienced, jittery rookie rolled up in a bad neighborhood with a history of killing cops and everybody else....and opened fire when he shouldn't have.
The family should easily win a civil suit, the officer in question should be doing something else for a living more suited to his abilities and Cleveland will need to do a better job hiring (fat chance) and training officers.

It is. A wannabe Thug was pointing a guns at people including police and he lost his life because of it. Blame the baby mama and baby daddy for not raising him to know better or even having any idea what he was up to.
So why was this white thug not treated the same way as Tamir? White man pointing gun at police in a public park. Terrified kids were hiding in bathrooms. They tried to talk him down for 2 hours and then they shot him, but they did not kill him. They did not approach him for over 1/2 hour after he was shot as they attempted to convince him to move away from the gun.

Move both bullets a few inches and that guy dies and Tamir lives.
Also, yet again I have to point out that cops that patrol nice areas and cops that patrol gang infested shooting ranges show up with a different mindset. Why I have to point that out I have no idea, but it's sad.

Yes … My expectations tend to affect what I see ...
If someone points a gun at you, you have a choice to make and time is the Grim Reaper.
If they shoot first, you die. If you shoot first you live.
Did any of you weeping for Tamir look at the gun he had? Not even the best expert, given the situation could decide in wnough time whether it was real or not, if in fact it was real and Tamir pulled the trigger.
The problem didn't start with the shooting, the airsoft gun, it started with his parents. Now his parents want the money his blood buys them.

His parents should be on trial.
As should (IMHO) the "toy" makers/sellers who go out of their way to make the toy gun LOOK as nearly identical as possible to the real thing ...
No, Tamir did that. He modified the airsoft 45 to look like the real thing. Someone probably helped him, it was not made that way.
You could take two pieces of wood and make something that appears similar enough to trick the police or anyone else.
Always look before leaping.
Sure …
The problem is not only the guns themselves, whether replicas, toys, or the real thing …
THE problem is America's LOVE for guns, guns, guns and MORE guns and ammo, and violence as sport …
It's the "Gun Nut Culture" … "Go ahead, punk … Make my day … "
