An armed man was shot dead by a customer while trying to rob a Waterbury, Connecticut, cafe and the customers inside, police said.
Police said they received reports of gunfire at Cafe Azzurri, at 500 Bank Street, around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday and found a man with at least one gunshot wound at the cafe and pronounced him dead at the scene.
According to The Post and Courier, an employee said, “He saved us, that’s what he did.”

Meh. In most developed countries we just tell people to hand over the contents of the tiller. Insurance matter, and having someone die on the premises is worse for business than losing a couple of hundred.
That being said, if you're so hard up that robbing cafe customers seem like a smart plan, you're unlikely to possess enough money for a black-market firearm.
